Bursting Designer 3.7 XDO Protocol Support!

Thats right folks, there is a new version of the Bursting Designer out. One of the best new features of the Bursting Designer 3.7 is XDO Protocol support*. If you used the previous versions and were unsatisfied, please give the app a second try!

*In order to use the XDO Protocol a DBC file is required. The DBC for the EBS application suite can be found under $FND_TOP/secure.

Also, the previous versions of the application could crash because of invalid path to a format template. That issue has now been resolved and the app is very stable (and faster). If you do have issues, please let me know. I can't fix what I don't know about.

Bursting Designer Download Site
*Desupported 04.22.2010 - please use the BI Publisher Toolbox.
Bursting Designer - By clicking on the download link you will be redirected to a different site. The bursting designer is java webstart application. Java 6 is required to run this application. It's recommended to bookmark this particular blog and the download site. This is because you will need to use these links every time you wish to run the Bursting Designer or find news about updates. It's technically not a requirement to use the webstart application for the java savvy developers but in doing so you will miss out on future updates and releases. It's important to note the Bursting Designer jar files will be loaded on your machine. This allows for a significant increase in performance. If you need to remove this application for some reason, go to add/remove applications.

Very good Ike,
I was waiting for 1.3 to enable print media option. It will be nice to have page_ranges added. I like to print the first page using tray 1 and the reset using tray 2.

Thank you.

Lenus

Glad to hear that somebody was looking forward to the new version!

Lenus, can you do me a favor and let me know if you find any issues with the new functionality.

Thanks!

Hi Ike,

Great tool!

I have a quick question:

I loaded my hand-coded control file (which works, by the way), did a save-as, and noticed the tool had removed a couple of the features I use:

-file name of email attachment: the tool had removed the "output" attribute from my xapi:document node.

-pdf document watermark: the xapi:background child node of the xapi:document node

Is there a different way to do these yet, or should I just re-add them manually? If not, please consider this a feature request :-)

Thanks!
Steve
